I’ve been going to the gym once a week since February. And so far, I’ve only missed one week, so I’m pretty proud of myself. But that’s not what today’s blog post is about. Although I go in the morning, there are usually already a lot of people there and sometimes, they can provide quite a lot of entertainment. Which I’m sure, I do a lot of the time as well. But my gym-fails are a topic for another time. So here are some things I observed in the past weeks.
Hey there, how are you? Have you spent the last four days in a chocolate food coma that you’ve only woken up from to eat some more chocolate? If that is the case, I congratulate you: you have done Easter right. Although my weekend didn’t quite look like that, I still had an absolutely lovely time (and don’t worry, there was still enough chocolate involved. Obviously). Continue reading
Guess who crawled out of a hole, once again! I have a very good excuse for not being a busy bee on my blog for the first three weeks of January: hello, eleven exams over the course of two weeks! It wasn’t fun. But I’m glad to say it’s over and went pretty well. For the last two weeks, however, I have absolutely no excuse. Pure laziness, I’m sorry. In the two weeks since my last exam I celebrated with my study-buddies (we played “Never have I ever” – it was rather interesting!), went to a gig in Zürich (Ron Pope; highly recommend checking him out if you’re into singer/songwriter stuff), met up with lots of my friends and of course, did sweet nothing for quite a while. I also fell ill, which usually brings doing nothing with it. I also went out two weekends in a row, which is really wild for me. I am, after all, an old lady on the inside. Continue reading
There is a good chance that right now, two thoughts are going through your mind. 1. Oh dear, it’s another one of these odes to autumn and 2. It’s been autumn for a while now, why are you writing this now when it’s almost winter?
The answers to these thoughts are: Yes, it is and I don’t really care. Plus, my last name translates to autumn and I think that gives me the right to write about autumn whenever the heck I want. My birthday is also in autumn and it’s my favourite season. I think you can see where I’m going with this. I’m an autumn girl. Also, the weather has been so warm lately that any thoughts of winter just seem completely out-of-place. And how many times can I write “autumn” in one blog post? (It’s eight times so far, in case you were wondering)
I think it’s fair to say that I’ve been a pretty rubbish blogger – sorry about that! But here I am, giving it another go.
Lately I’ve always been complaining how I’ve got no time. And it is partly true, my internship drastically reduced my time budget but it’s actually not that bad as I always think it is. At the start, I was scared for my social life. I thought I just wouldn’t be able to squeeze everything in. Now I realise that I am the kind of person who thrives on being busy and tries to fit in as much as possible once I’m busy. My social life now is probably better than when I have all the time in the world because I don’t really make an effort then. Of course there are still moments when being short on time comes in the way for certain things and certain people but in general I think I’m doing fine.
The key is, like oh so often, planning. You have to know how much time you have, where you could safe some and what things you have to do. For example, I’m currently sat in Starbucks, writing. It was either that or rushing home only to go back into town an hour later. Now, I have over 2 hours to myself with hardly anything around distracting me, which means I got to write several posts to upload in the next couple of days and I have almost finished the translation I have to do for someone. Being productive is actually quite fun once you’re at it! (Then Starbucks switched off the wifi so I had to wait until I got home to upload this. Still on time though!)
What works best for you when you are short on time and super busy?
I don’t know about you but as the nosy person I am, I love all the Facts about me-posts, the Q&A’s, the hauls, the room tours… I realise how weird and slightly creepy that sounds. But I know for a fact I’m not the only one so that’s ok.
It was only a matter of time until I was going to write one of these posts and I’m happy to say that there are more to come. But let’s just start with a few facts about myself.
I just painted my nails with the colour Rimmel 873 Breakfast in Bed. It basically screams spring. There’s also a big chance that I will manage to mess it up the next hour or so.
Aubergines are one of my favourite foods to eat.
I get really annoyed (on the inside) at people who are always late for everything. And I don’t even mean the super-half-an-hour-late, some people are constantly late five minutes, which they consider as perfectly on time. Now I’m not saying that you always have to be there when the clock strikes the exact minute you’ve arranged to meet, but I think that trying to be on time is a sign of respect for the other person.
I’m a morning person. Now, that doesn’t mean I particularly enjoy having to wake up at the break of dawn, just that it doesn’t bother me too much and I don’t spend the first two hours after waking up walking around like a zombie. However, being a morning person makes sleeping in on weekends almost impossible.
One of my biggest fears in life right now is that I won’t find a job later in life that I will actually like so that I will turn into a miserable person who only ever feels joy when the word weekend is mentioned. I probably shouldn’t worry about that too much being 19 years old but it really stresses me out.
My first own pet was a hamster named Tim. My second hamster was also named Tim. I now have a friend called Tim.
I go through phases with colours but my all-time favourite is blue.
My favourite desserts involve either chocolate, peanut butter or caramel (preferably salted). Or a combination of the three. Bananas and hazelnuts are also very high up on that list.
I have a thing for making lists would say I am a fairly organised person, just not when it comes to keeping my room mess-free.
I love music but I cannot write with any noise in the background. I usually switch on my radio for the time it takes to start my laptop and log into WordPress and then switch it off until I’ve finished writing.
When people ask me if I have a second name I always say that it is Sophie, which is not actually true. My full first name is Anna-Sophie so I really only have one first name.
My favourite concerts are the ones where I can sing along to every single song, including the B-sides, covers and songs from 10 years ago that never made it onto an album.
