Merry Christmas Eve – Blogmas Day 24

Merry Christmas Eve to all you lovely people out there!
I hope you are already celebrating, spend time with people and eat lots and lots of good food – I know that’s what I did today!

This evening is not a time to read blog posts that are the length of a short novel so I’m going to leave you with a picture of our Christmas tree. It doesn’t get more festive than that, right?

Blogger gift exchange – Blogmas Day 23

One benefit that comes with having a blogging-buddy who’s also your buddy in real life is the fact that when it comes to Christmas, you get to exchange presents and then blog about it because on the internet, that’s a totally legit thing.

Favourite Christmas memory – Blogmas Day 22

Woah guys, we’ve almost made it to Christmas! How are you all doing?

Yesterday was another blogmas-fail (I’m so sorry!) so I’m going to publish yesterday’s post today and we can all forget about the fact that I have missed four days of blogmas so far. But hey, these things happen.

Here in Switzerland, we celebrate on Christmas eve. The candles on the Christmas tree are burning, we eat delicious food and that’s also when we get our presents. When I was little, me and my siblings used to – like a lot of children – get toys for Christmas. I also got given quite a lot of books if I remember correctly. We usually wouldn’t start playing with our new toys straight away as there was still the Christmas dinner to be eaten and by the time the last piece of dessert was eaten, we were so tired that we just went to bed. Because of that, the morning after (so on the actual Christmas day) was always very special. We would wake up early, go down to the living room and give all our presents a proper second inspection. I remeber the feeling in the room, the smell from blown out candles and the tree still lingering in the air, wrapping paper all over the floor and a very peaceful, calm athmosphere.
This might not be a grand memory of something spectacular that happend but it’s one thing that I remember best and even today, on Christmas morning, when there’s that exact smell in the air, I get taken straight back to little Anna, looking through her books and playing with her toys.

Tiny Trinket turns 1 – Blogmas Day 20

Hey guys,
sorry for the absence of the last few days! Let me give you a little run down of the events I was supposed to be blogging about on Friday and yesterday: Friday, Noemi and I went to see the new Star Wars movie (don’t worry, there are no bloopers in this post). I can’t really say that I’m a big Star Wars fan – before Friday, I hadn’t seen a whole film from start to finish – but I must say that I quite enjoyed it! I love going to the cinema anyway and the film was really good, even for someone who’s not that into it. Continue reading

Advent as child vs as student – Blogmas Day 17

Today’s blog post was supposed to be a winter outifit. Trith is: I spent the last two days in my pj’s and tracksuit bottoms. Yesterday, I didn’t even leave our flat and today I only went out in order to go grocery shopping. So instead of showing you artsy fashion pictures, I’m going to take a look at basically how much better Christmas is when you are a child.

Advent Calendar – Blogmas Day 16

I love advent calendars. I mean, you get a little surprise everyday and as someone who quite likes surprises, they are obviously totally my thing. As long as I can remember I’ve always had an advent calendar, sometimes even two. When we were younger, my siblings and had one together and each one of us got a little present on every third day. We always fought about who could be number three, as it was that person’s turn to open their little present on the 6th and on the 24th, so basically the two best days of advent. In adition to that, we sometimes had a calendar with lovely pictures behind each door. I still remember how excited we used to get when December came closer and how we used to sit on the stairs (where the advent calendar was) and try to figure out what was inside the little bags. Christmas Lights – Blogmas Day 15

When it comes to a city’s Christmas lights, there are probably more variations than there are Christmas cookies. You have everything from very subtle to totally over the top, some beautiful, some absolutely awful. One of my favourites are the Christmas lights in the Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich.
